My First IMATS Experience
IMATS IS AMAZING!
Seriously you need to go next year!
I’ve been to the UMA expo both times it been on but never IMATS so I thought I should give it a go, knowing full well that it was going to be crazy busy compared to UMA because its been running a lot longer.
What I really wasn’t expecting was the queue for NYX cosmetics and I mean it started to wrap around the room it was that long! I passed on that though, I wanted to check out makeup artists that were giving presentations and products that are harder to get hold of, you can order NYX online so I gave it a miss.
The cosmetic line that I was super excited about which I definitely wanted to get some things (a lot) from was Sugar Pill, lets just say I didn’t own anything from them before and now I have a pretty decent sized collection of the pigments (oopsie). I also purchased the purple eyeliner from Lime Crime, some brushes from Royal and Langnickel and Off world lip tar from OCC. Check out my instagram for pictures of my Sugar Pill purchases.
The products and discounts are amazing however I didn’t just go for that, I wanted to see the prothestics and body art that also occurs at this show, I definitely wasn’t let down (as you can see from some of the pictures below). The artists that were working on people at the show are truly inspiring and its such a shame that it gets washed of at the end of the day, thank god for cameras!
While I was there I was lucky enough to see Karla Powell’s presentation on air brushing, she made me and I’m sure everyone else feel like we were just friends having a chat about makeup, which was great. There was lots of tips and tricks shown, she answered questions throughout and invited back to the stand she was working at in the main hall.
So overall I’m really glad I ended up going as it was a bit of a last minute decision and I got to see all my friends who I worked with at MAC Covent Garden, which was brilliant!
