Oil for your face????
Who in their right mind would want to put oil on their face?! I’m with you on that trust me, well I was until I did a bit of research, turns out it can actually work wonders and I mean wonders!
Many Oils Contain Antioxidants
- Repair cells
- Reduce appearance of scars
- Firm skin
- Reduce wrinkles
As well as these amazing benefits oils are lipophilic (they love fat) meaning they go through the lipid layer of skin much faster than a cream would, which plumps the skin more effectively and helps control water loss. When using a facial oil at night as part of your skincare routine before cream it will help pull through those ingredients from the cream deeper into the skin, helping you get the best out of your products.
If that wasn’t enough to amaze you, I have tried out a couple of face oils and in my opinion they will blow your socks off! Ok mate not literally but they are pretty impressive!
Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil
This is truly a beautiful product packaging wise and I bet its suckered many customers in on that alone (I brought the biggest one just because it was pretty), however I did try it before I got a full size and it literally made my skin very, very happy over night! I was so impressed, I had no dry patches, my makeup was gliding on with great ease the next day, my skin felt refreshed and so, so, so soft. The long term effects it claims to have such as anti-aging is one that I wouldn’t notice for a while, especially since I’m 21 so…
Ingredients: Passiflora edulis seed oil, tocopherol. Thats it! Hooray! No nasty things!
The only issue I have with this oil other than the hefty price tag ( $75 really, ouch!) is that I smell like it smells a bit like a greasy chip (or french fry) when you have a good sniff. This doesn’t really bother me but I know its a no go for some people so just though I’d put it out there.
L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Extraordinary Facial Oil
Not as pretty to look at as the Tarte oil however it smells wonderful and no wonder with 8 refined essential oils; Lavander, marjoram, romarin, geranium, rose, chamomile, orange and lavandin in it. I feel like if these two products had a baby it would be perfect! No seriously it would! The consistency of this makes it possible to use under makeup in the day and part of your skincare routine at night, its not to shiny however I wouldn’t use as much in the day just in case. The main plus side compared to the Maracuja oil is the price, at £19.99 its hardly breaking the bank and at the moment in boots its £13.33 (bit of a random price).
They both also can be used in your hair and on your nails, hands and body too!
To conclude I love them both and I’m glad I have them both but theres just no need!
Let me know your thoughts!
(I’m not a expert however I have done a lot of research and personally used the two products above of which I purchased myself)
